Meet Your Celebrant
My name is Louise Hartnett, I am part of the FuturFaith community, a non-religious organisation, but deeply spiritual in our approach to meaning.
I am a HSE Registered Solemniser & Celebrant originally from West Cork, now based in Cork city.
I started my journey to train as a Celebrant during my second maternity leave. Some may say I lost my mind (I think I did) taking on a course with two small children, but I had been considering upskilling for a long time and naturally I decided to do this while sleep deprived!
I became a Celebrant for one simple reason — I love people. There’s something truly special about connecting with others, hearing their stories, and helping them celebrate life’s most meaningful moments. Whether it’s a wedding, naming day, or memorial, I take pride in creating ceremonies that feel personal, heartfelt, and full of warmth.
My goal is to make every occasion memorable — not just for what’s said, but for how it makes people feel.
My Background
My background is in Recruitment, a people orientated role. As both a Recruiter and a Celebrant, I work at two meaningful intersections of human experience — professional transitions and life milestones.
As a Celebrant, I hold space for life’s most significant moments — crafting and delivering personalised ceremonies that honor individuality, connection, and emotion. It’s storytelling at its most human.
Becoming a Celebrant was inspired by the joy and meaning I experienced through my own wedding. I saw firsthand how a beautifully crafted ceremony can set the tone for a day filled with love, laughter, and connection — and how the right Celebrant can make all the difference. Those experiences sparked a desire in me to create that same magic for others, helping couples and families celebrate their milestones in ways that feel personal, genuine, and full of heart.
Every ceremony I write and deliver is a reflection of that passion and the belief that life’s happiest moments deserve to be celebrated with warmth and authenticity.
Your Professional Celebrant
While the professional settings are different, the core of both my roles is the same:
Understanding people
Honouring their journeys
Communicating with empathy and authenticity
With a background in recruitment, I’ve spent many years listening to people’s stories and understanding what matters most to them. That experience now enriches my role as a Celebrant — helping me build genuine connections, put people at ease, and craft ceremonies that feel natural, heartfelt, and uniquely personal.
Whether it’s a wedding, naming day, or other life celebration, my goal is to create an atmosphere that’s relaxed, inclusive, and memorable.
Services & Location
I am an Inclusive Solemniser, and I would be honoured to conduct any Wedding ceremony type for any couple, including interfaith, semifaith and non-religious.
I conduct End of Life Ceremonies, Baby Naming Ceremonies, Vow Renewals and Life Milestone Ceremonies too.
While based in Cork city I can easily travel to West Cork, Kerry, Clare, Limerick and Waterford. I can also travel throughout Ireland.
